pkgdb-dir functionality

Today Mr O'Brien asked a question about why (some port) suddenly
installed some samba software and some ldap software and some other
software.
Having seen that behaviour earlier myself, I jumped onto my tinderbox
only to find out that I had 500 packages to search through and no
index.
My idea is to have, next to build, errors, jails, logs, packages
and wrkdirs, a pkgdb dir which has the same content as a /var/db/pkg
does have for each installed port (+CONTENT, +COMMENT, +DESC,
+MTREE_DIRS) but then a subset of them (+CONTENT, +COMMENT, +DESC,
+MTREE_DIRS) for each build package.
Or is this information already somewhere else availble?
