a way of deleting packages for nonexisting ports

Hi, 

is there a way for deleting packages which have no matching database entry? 
I've old packages, and packages for ports which where deleted in the 
database, but the packages are still there. Right now that produces 
"unbuilt" ports because the make dependency (the package) is already there 
from an "old" build which isn't any longer in the database.....
