a way of deleting packages for nonexisting ports

Another problem I ran into is hiting ctrl+c or kill tbcleanup with a 
"standard" kill - it will continue deleting _all_ the ports. The only way I 
found to really stop tbcleanup is kill -9
Any way to do that better?
