This is really interesting. My /tmp is a tmpfs on every machine
and I don't have such panics.

Did you run memtest? I used to have RAM problems and they only showed
up in memtest, when I ran several instances at once.

I.e. 4 2gb instances on a machine with 8gb RAM.
