Using Tinderbox with an NFS-mounted top-level directory

I am in the process of setting up a Tinderbox installation, with an
objective of building FreeBSD packages with the specific options used by
our organization. I have been trying to get Tinderbox running with a
top-level directory that is actually an NFS-mount, due to the limited space
on the build host (virtual machine). However, when I run createJail per the
installation instructions, the build bombs out while trying to install
world, due to installworld's use of chflags (and NFS not supporting file
flags).
Some googling has turned up previous posts to this list, suggesting that
setting NO_FSCHG in the environment. Is this the _approved_ method of
handling such a configuration? Is there something else I've got screwed up
(I'll admit that is a possibility).
Thanks,
