If the ``ports.tmpl'' file exists in this directory, it will be loaded
first for all ports. It should contain general directives for all
ports. These can be overridden in the specific port class.
Sub-directories named after the device's PID can also be created with
their own ``ports.tmpl'' files that contain per-PID general port
configuration directives.
